i want to release equity

Our equity release advice helps homeowners aged 55+ access the wealth in their home, tax-free, while remaining living there.

equity release planning

If you have significant equity or own your home outright, a lifetime mortgage allows you to release that wealth, tax free, while remaining in your home.

who is it for?

Homeowners aged 55 and above

Equity release is available if you're 55 or over and own significant equity in your home.

Those seeking cash or income

Unlike downsizing, equity release lets you access your home's value without having to move.

People wanting to remain in their home

Equity release lets you unlock the wealth tied up in your home without having to sell or move, so you can stay exactly where you are.

how does equity release work?

You borrow against the equity in your home. The loan is secured against your property and repaid from the sale of your home, or your estate, after you pass away.

You can choose to pay the interest each month, or make no repayments during your lifetime. If you pay monthly, you'll still owe the original loan amount at the end. If you make no payments, the interest accrues and is added to the final loan balance.

considerations

safeguards

All equity release schemes are regulated and backed by the Equity Release Council (previously known as SHIP). This ensures you receive independent financial advice and have protections in place.

Key protections include the ability to downsize, inheritance guarantees and lock-in rates. The “no negative equity guarantee” ensures that you can remain in your house for life even if the amount owed is higher than the value of your property.

Is It Right for You?

Equity release is a major decision with lifetime implications. It will likely affect the legacy you can leave to your beneficiaries and may affect any means tested benefits.  We conduct a thorough review of your circumstances, alternatives, and long-term goals before recommending this route.
